Operational improvement
Diagnose root causes, redesign processes and improve performance across complex operations.
JBC works alongside organisations to understand their challenges, develop practical solutions and deliver sustainable improvements across operations, people, processes, assets and performance.
From the workshop floor to the boardroom, we design solutions that work — and keep working.

Delivering practical solutions across complex, multi-site environments.
UK · EUROPE · MIDDLE EASTEngineering is the foundation, not the limit. We combine practical operational experience, rigorous business analysis, commercial understanding and people-first leadership to solve challenges that cut across functions.
Diagnose root causes, redesign processes and improve performance across complex operations.
Lead cross-functional change from discovery through pilots, rollout and sustained adoption.
Translate business requirements into clear workflows, functional rules and usable systems.
Apply practical mechanical and systems engineering expertise to real-world problems.
Improve fleet availability, specialist transport, depot networks and engineering operations.
Build management capability, engage frontline teams and embed ownership of improvement.
Practical solutions delivering measurable results, embedded improvements and sustainable performance. The examples below distinguish JBC consulting work, earlier leadership roles and separate entrepreneurial engineering experience.

Transport charging revenue reported across UK (£720k) and Germany (£540k).

Annualised first-year benefits against a £4.0m target; programme spanning more than 100 depots and 10,000 assets.

Reported first-year programme benefits. A refurbishment hall increased throughput from approximately 6 to 12+ units daily.
A modular building refurbishment operation needed to improve production flow, throughput and consistency.
Worked with operational teams to redesign production processes and create a double-flow arrangement, while encouraging continuous improvement at other facilities.
Improvement practices were extended beyond the initial hall, supporting team-owned changes. Additional-shift capacity of approximately 24 units per day remained potential, not an achieved result.
Reported €1.9m first-year programme benefits. Throughput in one hall increased from approximately six to more than twelve units per day.
An international engineering network needed more consistent depot processes, scheduling and operational control across more than 100 depots and over 10,000 assets.
Led business discovery and process redesign, then designed functional workflows and business rules with technical teams. Modular development, extended pilots in Germany and Bahrain, and phased rollout supported operational adoption.
The programme was designed around practical depot workflows, structured rollout and transition into business-as-usual operations.
£4.6m annualised first-year benefits against a £4.0m target.

Annualised transport cost savings against a £15m annual transport budget; on-time performance improved from 82% to 95%.

Designed Transport Management System (TMS), rule-based planning, screen flows, scheduling and operational controls

Designed a modular solar-powered CCTV solution integrating mechanical enclosure, power, communications and commercially sourced electronics.
A UK and German transport operation needed better route efficiency, control of subcontracting costs and more reliable customer service.
Redesigned planning and transport processes, introduced route-planning capability, reviewed internal fleet utilisation and rationalised subcontractor arrangements.
Planning processes, systems and commercial arrangements were incorporated into day-to-day transport operations rather than relying on a one-off cost reduction.
Approximately £2m annualised transport cost savings against a £15m annual transport budget. On-time performance improved from 82% to 95%.
Financial results relate to different programmes and should not be added together as a single JBC consulting total. Images include genuine project photographs, documents and illustrative Saturday design artwork; illustrative artwork is not documentary evidence of a particular client site.
Start with the people doing the work, establish the facts, develop workable solutions and embed ownership.
Start where the work happens. Listen to the people doing it, observe the processes and build trust.
Use operational and financial evidence to test root causes.
Design practical improvements with managers and frontline teams.
Coach, pilot and embed ownership so the benefits remain.
